Computing in BHS is fun and exciting.

Children are introduced to wide range of up-to-date computer skills like computer programming, animations, graphics, text editing, desktop publishing and so much more, using variety of applications like Scratch Programming Language, Kodu Programming game lab, MovieSoup, Stikz….amongst others.

In key stage 1, the emphasis is majorly on getting children familiar with basic computing skills such as graphics, image and text formatting, algorithms, data counting and sorting and  Computer programming, beginning with programmable hardware devices like Bee-Bot, then an upgrade to software applications like Turtle Logo programming and Scratch. This is achieved using the QCA guidelines.

While in key stage 2, children are taught computer programming, internet surfing, website design and blogging and Kodu game lab where they get to design their own games in 3D environments all at a more advanced level.

At BHS we understand the place of ICT as a core 21st century skill and we are passionate about developing these tender minds to take their place in the space of technology, hence, we have set aside a special coding club session for children who have keen interest in computer programming so they can deepen their knowledge, skills and further expand their horizons.
