Ethos

All children at Blooming Heritage School wear their school uniform with pride. We are committed to enforce the statement of this policy as we believe that a positive and carefully designed uniform for children helps instil pride, support positive behaviour and discipline as well as encourage identity. It also  contributes to a sense of belonging and teamwork. Therefore when your child joins Blooming Heritage School, we are all in agreement that, it is the responsibility of children, parents and Teachers to ensure that the correct uniform is worn at all times.

Our Uniform types include the following

Play Group 2:

Boys: School T-Shirt and any bottom

Girls; School T-shirt  and any bottom.

Nursery Class- Year 6

From Nursery class, the children are expected to wear the proper school uniform. From Mondays to Fridays except on sport days, the children are to come dressed in the school white shirts or blouses, and pinafore or shorts.

Sport and Games Kit

When children join us at Blooming Heritage School, they are assigned to a sport house with a unique colour and the sport wear given to them will match their house colour. On sport days children are to come dressed in their sport wear, shorts and trainers.

Because our uniform and appearance is a major form of our identification, we expect parents to work and cooperate with the school and ensure children are properly dressed at all times. Below are some of the dress issues we do not condone.

  • Because of safety reasons, we ask that girls come to school in stud or pin ear rings and not dropping or loop ear rings. This is to prevent accidents and injury during play time or sport activities.
  • The Girls are expected to have their neatly done. However the use of extensions, wigs, attachments and weave on is not allowed. Please we would like parents to strictly adhere to this.
  • When the weather is harsh or cold, panty hose is allowed for the girls, however only white colour is allowed. NO other colour should be worn under the school uniform.
  • The children MUST come to school with their ties and socks every day. The tie is a compulsory part of the uniform and should not be worn occasionally.
  • School sweaters are given to children as part as their uniform pack, therefore the children are expected to wear the proper school sweater. No other school cardigan will be allowed.
  • The boys are expected to trim their hair and keep it low and neat at all times. They are NOT allowed to plait their hair, spray or colour it.

Sanctions for Non Compliance

It is of importance that parents comply with the uniform policy, as such sanctions are put in place for Non-compliance.

  • For a child who is not properly dressed, a verbal warning will be given and the child will be asked to make sure they dress properly.
  • A repeat of the offence of the above, will be sent home to inform the parents.
  • Any girl found wearing loop or dangling ear rings, will have the ear rings removed and sent home.
  • For children with extensions, attachments and weave on, they will have a day to loosen the hair and redo it or the child will not be allowed into the school until the hair is removed.
  • For repeated and continuous offence, the parent of the child will be invited to the school for a meeting, and if no significant change is noticed, it will be decision of the management to take a final decision on the issue.

As much as these sanctions have been put in place we do hope we will have minimal offences, as we believe you will give the necessary support we need.
