Play is crucial to the development and learning of young children and high quality play experiences during the early years give children a solid foundation for later learning. Play challenges children’s problem solving skills, develops their thinking, manipulative and social skills and leads to increased self confidence and self-esteem. For these reasons, Blooming Heritage is committed to planning and providing a learning environment full of interesting and stimulating play activities appropriate for each child’s age and stage of development, which help children progress in each of the areas of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We cover the seven areas of learning as highlighted in the British Early Years foundation stage curriculum and they are:

  1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development;
  2. Communication and Language
  3. Physical Development;
  4. Literacy;
  5. Mathematics
  6. Understanding of the World;
  7. Expressive and Creative Development.

We develop positive attitudes to learning throughout the School. Whether children start in Playgroup, Nursery or Reception, they quickly develop the independence and confidence to learn and interact with others.

Our environment is stimulating and this encourages independence and a real motivation to learn. The classrooms and outdoor areas have excellent resources to promote effective learning. Early reading and writing skills are taught in an effective and engaging way, and children attain a high level in all areas by the end of the Foundation Stage.
